CLINICAL THERAPY | WESTPORT, CT
Learn to effectively cope with the everyday challenges life can present.
Therapy can be very beneficial in helping people learn more about themselves, their interactions with other people, and how to cope effectively with various difficulties which may arise in their lives. I work with children, adolescents and adults in the treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, ADHD, relational problems, and adjustment disorders. I have been trained in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and systems oriented treatment. Generally, I draw from each of these orientations in a manner I feel will help an individual most effectively. While my work is predominantly done individually, family members and significant others are included in treatment in a manner which is beneficial to the individual.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I make an appointment?
If you would like to schedule an appointment or speak to me, please call 203-226-6548 during office hours. If you are unable to reach me directly, please leave a message and include the best times to reach you.
What do I bring to my first appointment?
Please download and complete the required forms for the purpose of your visit (therapy or testing) and bring them with you to your first appointment. You may also wish to bring additional documentation which you feel will be helpful such as medical records, report cards, previous evaluations, or work samples. A form of payment (check or cash) is also required. Please note there is a 24 hour cancellation policy for all therapy appointments. You will be charged full fee for appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance.
Do you prescribe medication?
Psychologists do not prescribe medication. Should the need arise to consider medication as an aspect of treatment, appropriate referrals will be made to qualified professionals.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept direct payment from insurance companies. Therefore, I am considered an out-of-network provider. A detailed receipt will be provided at the conclusion of each therapy session or evaluation with which you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please understand that in order for you to receive reimbursement you must receive a diagnosis which will be part of your medical record.
Each insurance plan is different and it is your responsibility to understand your coverage. It is helpful to know the procedure codes which are most frequently used when speaking with your insurance provider. Please reference these codes in order to help determine coverage as best as possible.
- 90791 – Initial consultation
- 90834 – Individual outpatient therapy session (45 minutes)
- 90791, 96136/7, 96132/3 – Neuropsychological Assessment
- 90791, 96136/7, 96130/1 – Psychological Assessment
What is the testing process?
The testing process begins with an initial consultation with a parent to discuss the purpose of the evaluation and current concerns. A complete family, developmental, medical , social, and psychiatric history will be reviewed as well as any previous evaluations, report cards, standardized test scores, and work samples if available. At the conclusion of this appointment you may schedule the testing sessions themselves. Generally testing requires two three hour sessions to complete. However, modifications may be necessary depending on the situation. You will also be provided with rating scales to complete prior to the start of testing. Teacher rating scales will be provided as well. Once testing has been completed and all data has been collected, scoring, interpretation, and report writing generally takes two to three weeks to complete. Once the report is complete we will meet and review the results in person. You will then be provided with a signed copy of the report to share with other providers, teachers, and professionals as you choose.
Is my personal information confidential?
All information related to therapy or testing is confidential. I am unable to disclose any information without written consent with the exception of certain instances required by law or for payment purposes. If you would like me to speak with another professional, educator, or family member, you must complete a release of information form, which I will provide.
